Electric semi-hollow guitar from Americana series that is a reproduction of the two-pickup, wide-body Supro electric guitar that was first manufactured in the early 1960s. This reissue mates a chambered mahogany back with an upgraded, composite “Acousti-glass” top. This updated construction, complemented by mahogany neck with redesigned two-bolt joint, preserves the instrument’s Art Deco aesthetics and timeless sound while improving its acoustic resonance and tuning stability. Scale length is 628.65 mm. The guitar’s vintage-correct tuners, Art Deco stairstep tailpiece and adjustable rosewood bridge are joined by two faithful replicas of the legendary Vistatone pickup, a groundbreaking single-coil developed for Valco by Ralph Keller in the early 1950s. The Vistatone pickup is cited as prior art in Seth Lover’s PAF patent and is found in many of the most desirable vintage Supro models. The guitar then provides a powerful, electric swampy-blues tones that is anything but subtle and can be adjusted by independent volume and tone controls for each pickup. Jet Black colour design.
