The extended Upper Horn creates constant contact with the neck from the 12th to the 24th fret, providing maximum stability and increased sustain. Its extra-long 889mm neck scale provides a bit more tension for the low B and improves definition in the lower range. Body of the instrument features a rosewood top and ash wings, combined with a BTB5 nine-piece maple/bubinga neck. This wood combination creates one of the strongest through-necks available and increases stability and sustain through the entire body of the bass. The back of the neck is sculpted for comfort and easy access to the very highest notes. The smooth, graceful contour allows the palm of the left hand to move quickly and easily as it transitions up the neck, into the underside of the bass’s ash body. The neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot inlays and 24 medium frets. Nut width is 54mm, radius of the fingerboard is 950mm. The bass guitar is equipped with two passive Bartolini BH1 single-sized humbucking pickups that deliver warm tone balanced with clarity. Coils with lower resonant frequency provide tighter bottom end and a fuller midrange. The dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field, providing balanced string-to-string pickup response. The active 3-band EQ features fully independent bass, treble and mid controls with a wide boost/cut range. The preamp system is equipped with a mid-frequency select switch, enabling for instant selection of 250Hz or 600Hz, the heart of the mid zone, for a more dynamic and ideal tone. The Mono-Rail II bridge with 19mm string spacing delivers the ultimate in string-to-string isolation, meaning that each string vibrates optimally without being affected by the others.
