Fender Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ Pack MN Black 4-strängad basgitarr

Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ Pack — A Complete Gateway into Fender Bass

The Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ Pack MN Black bundles a legendary P-Bass design with everything needed to start playing right out of the box. This all-in-one package pairs the Affinity PJ bass with a Fender Rumble 15 amplifier, padded gig bag, strap, and 10-foot instrument cable. The Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ is a superb gateway into the Fender family, delivering quintessential tone for today's aspiring bassist. A thin, lightweight poplar body and slim "C"-shaped maple neck keep the instrument comfortable through long practice sessions and stage sets alike.

PJ Pickup Configuration and Player-Friendly Refinements

What sets this bass apart is its PJ pickup layout: a Squier split single-coil P-Bass neck pickup paired with a single-coil J-Bass bridge pickup. This combination unlocks a wide range of sonic variety, from the meaty thump of a classic Precision Bass to the crisp character of a Jazz Bass bridge position. Open-gear vintage-style tuning machines deliver smooth, accurate tuning, while the 4-saddle standard bridge keeps intonation adjustments straightforward for players who like to dial in their own setup.

Poplar Body and Bolt-On Maple Neck

The poplar body wears a gloss polyurethane finish that resists daily wear, while the bolt-on maple neck pairs a satin urethane back with a gloss urethane headstock face. A 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and 20 medium-jumbo frets give modern bending room and clean note articulation across the neck.

• Body Material: Poplar — lightweight tonewood that keeps the bass comfortable during long sessions.
• Scale Length: 864 mm (34") — full P-Bass scale for proper string tension and deep low end.
• Fingerboard Radius: 241 mm (9.5") — modern feel for bending and chording.

PJ Pickup Pairing with Passive Electronics

Both pickups use ceramic magnets for clear, articulate output. The passive circuit routes each pickup through its own volume knob, with a master tone shaping overall voicing. Players can roll off the J-Bass pickup for pure P-Bass thump, blend both for fuller tone, or lean on the bridge pickup for slap-friendly brightness.

• Pickup Configuration: PJ — split single-coil P-Bass neck plus single-coil J-Bass bridge.
• Controls: Volume 1 (neck), Volume 2 (bridge), Master Tone — independent blending without active EQ.
• Preamp: Passive — preserves the natural voice of each pickup.

Vintage-Style Hardware and a Complete Starter Bundle

Chrome hardware, a 3-ply black pickguard, and knurled flat-top control knobs give the bass a clean classic look. The included Fender Rumble 15 amplifier delivers 15 watts through an 8-inch Fender Special Design speaker, with three-band EQ, aux input, and headphone jack for silent practice. A padded gig bag, strap, 10-foot cable, and 3-month Fender Play subscription round out the package.

• Tuning Machines: Vintage-style open-gear — smooth, accurate tuning with a classic visual.
• Bundled Amplifier: Fender Rumble 15 (15 W) — practice-ready combo with 8" speaker and headphone output.
• Package Contents: Amplifier, cable, gig bag, strap — everything needed to start playing on day one.

Beginners, Returning Players, and Gigging Bassists Needing a Backup

The Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ Pack is the right choice for beginners who want a complete, no-fuss setup on day one. The bundle removes the guesswork of matching an amp, cable, and bag to a new instrument, and the included Fender Play subscription adds structured lessons for self-taught players. Returning bassists benefit from the PJ pickup flexibility, which covers rock, funk, blues, and slap styles without needing extra pedals. Gigging players will also find value here as a dependable backup instrument that can survive the road while keeping a more expensive bass safe at home.

The PJ Bass Concept — A Fender Hybrid With Decades of History

The PJ bass configuration traces back to the 1970s, when bass players began modifying their instruments by adding a Jazz Bass bridge pickup to a Precision Bass body. Fender officially introduced the PJ layout in 1984, and the design gained mainstream attention after Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses was seen playing one in 1986. Today, PJ basses appear across Fender's lineup from the Squier Affinity Series to the American Ultra range, making the concept a staple for players who want both P-Bass authority and J-Bass clarity in a single instrument.
