Cort Earth 70-12 Open Pore Natural 12-strängad akustisk gitarr

Cort Earth 70-12 OP — 12-String Dreadnought with Vintage Soul

The Cort Earth 70-12 OP is a 12-string acoustic guitar built in the classic dreadnought tradition, offering the rich, chorus-like shimmer that defines the format. This model pairs a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, producing a broad, warm tone with volume to spare. As part of Cort's Earth Series, it delivers vintage flat-top character at a price working players can reach. The open pore finish keeps the body light and lets the tonewoods breathe freely.

What Sets This 12-String Apart

The exclusive scooped surface bridge from Cort increases the string angle behind the saddle, lifting sustain and reducing tension across the neck for less finger fatigue. Advanced Scalloped X-Bracing shapes the top's flexibility, giving the solid spruce soundboard the response needed to handle the extra tension of a 12-string configuration.

Solid Spruce Top with Mahogany Body — Tone That Opens Up Over Time

The tonewood pairing mirrors countless vintage flat-tops. Solid spruce delivers a strong fundamental with crisp articulation, while mahogany back and sides add warmth and a focused midrange.

• Top Material: Solid Spruce — a real solid soundboard that vibrates freely
• Back & Sides: Mahogany — warm character with a strong midrange
• Body Shape: Dreadnought — large body delivers the volume 12-strings need

Mahogany Neck and Ovangkol Fingerboard — Built for Comfortable Chord Work

A 12-string guitar places extra tension on the neck, so playability matters more than on a six-string. The C-shaped mahogany neck keeps the profile slim, while the ovangkol fingerboard offers a smooth surface under the fingers.

• Neck Material: Mahogany — stable under the extra pull of 12 strings
• Fingerboard Material: Ovangkol — dense and smooth, tonally similar to rosewood
• Nut Width: 43 mm — wide enough for clean spacing across doubled courses
• Scale Length: 648 mm — standard dreadnought scale

Dovetail Joint, Die-Cast Tuners, and D'Addario Strings — Ready to Play

This model ships with hardware chosen for stability and tuning accuracy across all twelve strings. The dovetail neck joint is a traditional construction method that improves resonance transfer between neck and body.

• Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint — classic glued joint for better tone transfer
• Tuning Machines: Die-Cast — hold tuning reliably across doubled courses
• Strings: D'Addario XTA PB1253 — 12-string set for acoustic 12-strings
• Bracing: Advanced Scalloped X-Bracing — tuned top response for balanced volume

Ideal for Singer-Songwriters, Flatpickers, and 12-String Enthusiasts

This 12-string dreadnought is the right choice for guitarists who want the unmistakable jangle of a 12-string without paying flagship prices. Singer-songwriters will appreciate how the dreadnought body fills a room with vocal accompaniment, while flatpickers get the strong bass response folk players look for. Players upgrading from a six-string will find the C-shaped neck approachable, and the open pore finish keeps the instrument light for long sets.

Cort Earth Series — Over 40 Years of Dreadnought Craftsmanship

The Earth Series is Cort's oldest and most traditional dreadnought line, built on more than 40 years of acoustic guitar craftsmanship. Cort designed the series as a homage to great vintage acoustic guitars, focusing on classic tonewoods and time-tested construction methods. This 12-string model continues that philosophy in a format that doubles the strings without doubling the price.
