Wings
Paul McCartney and Wings, known simply as Wings, was a British-American rock band formed in London in 1971 by Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles. The core lineup featured McCartney on vocals and bass, his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine, with a frequently changing roster of lead guitarists and drummers. Wings became known for their diverse musical style, major commercial successes, and hits like Band on the Run, Jet, Silly Love Songs, and Live and Let Die. The band achieved six US number one singles and enjoyed worldwide popularity, especially during their mid-1970s tours. Despite several lineup changes and temporary setbacks, the McCartneys and Laine kept the group going until its breakup in 1981. Wings are remembered as one of the most successful post-Beatles projects in rock history.
