The Slackers are a ska band from Manhattan, New York, active since 1991. Blending ska, rocksteady, reggae, soul, dub, garage rock, and jazz, they are known for their dynamic sound and energetic live shows. With a prolific career that includes extensive international touring and a longtime partnership with Hellcat Records, the band has earned a dedicated following. Members are also involved in various side projects, like Reggae Workers of the World and David Hillyard and the Rocksteady Seven. Frontman Vic Ruggiero performs solo and has contributed keyboards and piano to Rancid albums.
