The Handpan is an absolutely beginner-friendly instrument where percussion and melody come together. Playing the handpan creates soothing, spherical and long-lasting soundscapes that completely captivate both the player and the listener. Neither previous experience nor knowledge of music theory is necessary, because with the Handpan all tone fields lie on a fixed scale. It is not possible to strike “wrong” sounding notes on most models.

Therefore, when playing, you can completely follow your own intuition and lose yourself in mysterious, dreamy melodies after a very short time.

Sela Harmony Ember Steel handpans combine the popular original Ember Steel with the familiar shape of Sela Harmony handpans. They are handmade and consist of a special, very sturdy stainless steel. Their release time lies between nitrided steel handpans and stainless steel models. This particularly balanced sustain and the warm, controlled sound make Ember Steel handpans real all-rounders that can be played slowly and meditatively as well as fast and percussively. They therefore offer the best of both worlds and are also comparatively easy to care for, as the steel alloy is well protected against external influences such as hand perspiration and dirt. During production, our Ember Steel models are given a beautiful brownish finish.

With their ten tone fields, the Sela Harmony handpans made of Ember Steel offer even more playful possibilities for a wide variety of melodies. The tuning D Kurd (fundamental frequency 440 Hz) is one of our best-selling scales. The central note in the middle of the handpan is D3, around which the notes A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4 and C5 are arranged in a circle. Practical: An overview of the scale with the individual tone fields is lasered onto the underside of the handpan. Thanks to its bright sounding D minor scale, this handpan is suitable for spiritual activities such as yoga, meditation and sound baths as well as for playing together with other handpans or other instruments such as tongue drums, guitar or percussion.

Each Sela Handpan comes with a bag made of tear-resistant nylon fabric, which provides optimal protection during transport thanks to its good lining. It can be carried either by hand using the two handles or comfortably as a backpack thanks to adjustable shoulder straps. A practical outer compartment offers enough space for small accessories such as a metronome.
