Behringer Eurolive VP1520 — 1000-Watt Passive PA Speaker for Live Sound

The Behringer Eurolive VP1520 is a 1000-Watt passive 2-way PA speaker built for live sound, mobile DJ rigs, and house-of-worship use. This cabinet pairs a 15-inch long-excursion woofer with a 1.75-inch titanium-diaphragm compression driver for articulate bass and clear highs. The high-power speaker handles 250 W RMS / 1000 W peak and reaches 94 dB SPL.

Custom-Engineered Transducers and Road-Ready Construction

What separates the VP1520 from generic 15-inch cabinets is the proprietary 1.75-inch titanium-diaphragm compression driver paired with a custom horn delivering 70° x 50° ultrawide dispersion. Built-in overload-protection circuitry safeguards the HF driver from clipping damage, while the trapezoidal enclosure doubles as a floor monitor wedge when tilted on its side.

Power Handling and Driver Configuration

Power handling and driver choice determine whether a PA cabinet survives a full gig without strain. The VP1520 is rated at 250 W RMS continuous and 1000 W peak, with a long-excursion 15-inch woofer providing the deep-bass foundation that vocals and kick drums rely on.

• Power Handling: 250 W RMS / 1000 W peak — headroom for full-range music without amp clipping
• LF Driver: 15" long-excursion woofer — extended bass response and articulate low-end projection
• HF section uses a 1.75" titanium-diaphragm compression driver that delivers natural-sounding highs with low distortion at high SPL

Dispersion Pattern and Frequency Response

Coverage angle and frequency bandwidth shape how evenly a room hears the program material. The VP1520's 70° horizontal x 50° vertical horn spreads sound across a wide audience area, while the 45 Hz to 20 kHz response covers the full vocal and instrumental spectrum.

• Maximum SPL: 94 dB (full-space, 1 W at 1 m) — sufficient headroom for small-to-medium venues
• Frequency Response: 45 Hz – 20 kHz — full-range coverage from sub-bass to airy high-frequency detail
• Crossover point sits at 2500 Hz, giving a clean handoff between the woofer and compression driver for coherent imaging

Inputs, Enclosure, and Physical Build

Connection flexibility and physical durability matter on every load-in. The VP1520 ships with parallel Speakon NL4 and 6.3 mm jack inputs plus thru outputs, allowing daisy-chaining of multiple cabinets from a single amp channel.

• Inputs: Speakon NL4 + 6.3 mm jack (parallel) — daisy-chain multiple cabinets without extra wiring
• Impedance: 8 Ohms — straightforward pairing with most professional power amplifiers
• Trapezoidal enclosure with a 35 mm pole socket and rugged steel grille — doubles as a floor wedge and resists transit wear

Ideal for Mobile DJs, Small Venues, and Houses of Worship

The Behringer Eurolive VP1520 is the right choice for mobile DJs, small-venue bands, and house-of-worship sound teams who need a high-power passive cabinet at an accessible price point. Wide 70° x 50° dispersion keeps coverage even across a wide audience without hot spots. The trapezoidal enclosure and 35 mm pole socket let operators deploy it on a tripod stand or tilt it sideways as a floor monitor wedge.

Designed and Engineered in Germany

Part of Behringer's long-running Eurolive passive loudspeaker family, the VP1520 is designed and engineered in Germany. The series has built its reputation by delivering high power handling and feature sets at price points accessible to working musicians. Custom-engineered LF and HF transducers, a proprietary horn, and rugged steel-grille construction continue that tradition for repeated touring and rental use.
