Original IDT system - Integrated Dual Feed / Transport - patented by Pfaff - absolutely even fabric feed from above and below, excellent for fine and very heavy materials in several layers, prevents individual layers of material from shifting between each other. You can use the same system for backstitching, where the IDT system can work in reverse and the material is evenly moved back and forth. You don't need to buy a less effective presser foot that doesn't have as much power. The system can be easily turned on or off.

The IDT system is used when sewing specific thin materials that slip when sewing, causing the material to shift relative to each other at the end of the seam. It can also be used when sewing multiple layers with filling between the materials. Bottom feed alone cannot handle this material, causing the bottom material to shift while the top material remains in place and wrinkles.

The IDT system moves both the upper and lower materials and can also move the filling with pressure. You can also use the IDT system for materials that do not slide under the presser foot. Again, poor movement occurs when the bottom feed is unable to move the material, even if you manually increase the pressure of the presser foot. The IDT system grips the material from both the bottom and the top without any problems and feeds it evenly. This ensures a perfect stitch without skipping. You will appreciate this especially when sewing more expensive materials or leather and imitation leather, which cannot be repaired by unpicking because the needle has already damaged the material.

Manual presser foot pressure adjustment - normally, you set the presser foot pressure on the machine to the “N” position, which is automatic pressure, but you can also adjust the pressure yourself, which is a huge advantage over machines with automatic presser foot pressure adjustment, as any seamstress who sews different materials will confirm. If the machine only has the so-called automatic presser foot pressure adjustment option, it is controlled only by a simple option of stable spring pressure, which increases slightly with the height of the material. In contrast, manual presser foot pressure is excellent and commonly used in industrial machines, where you can set the appropriate pressure yourself. With manual presser foot pressure, you can adjust the pressure on the material according to your immediate needs. You can press the presser foot down hard, so that the material is fed perfectly by the feeder, or you can set a light pressure so that the material is not damaged or stops bunching under the presser foot. Simply use the functions as you would on an industrial machine. In combination with IDT, you will have no problems.
