Impact Soundworks MB Gordy Percussion - Boobams delivers the distinctive and powerful sound of the Boobams, a rare percussion instrument made from rectangular bamboo tubes. This virtual instrument library, developed with the renowned Hollywood percussionist M.B. Gordy, offers an expressive and versatile addition to your musical projects.

The Boobams are famed for their punchy attack and woody tone, featured in iconic soundtracks such as Planet of the Apes, The Pink Panther, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. This library expands the original two-octave range to a full three octaves (C2 to C5), giving you greater melodic freedom.

You can select from four distinct articulations—Fingers, Hot Rods, Mallets, and Sticks—each providing unique timbres and dynamic nuances. The Ensemble mode allows layering two to four hit types, creating rich, complex textures perfect for cinematic and contemporary music.

Built with sound design in mind, the library includes controls such as ADSR envelope shaping, tone adjustments, and a microtuning engine to tailor sounds precisely to your needs. Recordings were made using three microphone setups (C414 wide, KM140 ORTF, and a pre-mixed third channel) to capture the full tonal spectrum of the Boobams.
