Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, is an American singer-songwriter and actress born in 1994 in Central Jersey. Rising to fame through self-released music online, she signed with Astralwerks in 2014 and shortly after released her debut EP, Room 93. Her first studio album, Badlands, was critically and commercially successful, earning double platinum status and spawning hits like "New Americana." Halsey achieved international recognition with her collaboration with The Chainsmokers on "Closer," which topped charts worldwide.
