Giorgio Moroder is an Italian composer and record producer widely known as the "Father of Disco." Pioneering Euro disco and electronic dance music, Moroder's innovative use of synthesizers helped shape genres like hi-NRG, Italo disco, synth-pop, new wave, house, and techno. In the 1970s, he founded Oasis Records and Musicland Studios in Munich, where he worked with major artists and produced many hits for Donna Summer, including "I Feel Love" and "Love to Love You Baby." Moroder also composed acclaimed film scores for movies such as Midnight Express, Scarface, and The NeverEnding Story. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists like David Bowie, Blondie, Irene Cara, and The Weeknd. His most celebrated works include Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" and Irene Cara's "Flashdance... What a Feeling," both of which won Academy and Golden Globe Awards. Moroder's contributions have earned him multiple Grammy Awards and induction into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
