Fender American Professional Stratocaster RW Dark Night — A Modern Workhorse Strat

The Fender American Professional Stratocaster RW Dark Night is a flagship workhorse electric guitar built around more than seven decades of Stratocaster evolution. This model pairs a polyurethane Dark Night finish over an alder body with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard for a classic, stage-ready feel. New V-Mod III single-coil pickups are more articulate than ever while retaining bell-like chime and warmth. A push-push tone control adds the neck pickup to any switch position, opening up tonal options beyond the classic five-way layout. The result is a professional-grade instrument with refined playability and unmistakable Fender tone.

Standout Features — Comfortable Neck and Upgraded Tremolo

What makes this Dark Night Stratocaster stand out is the combination of a newly sculpted neck and an upgraded tremolo system. The Deep "C" neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin finish feels fast and inviting under the hand. The upgraded 2-point synchronized tremolo uses bent steel saddles paired with a cold-rolled steel block, increasing sustain and adding high-end sparkle to every note.

Body Construction and Finish — Classic Strat Tone

An alder body delivers the balanced, resonant tonal foundation that has defined the Stratocaster since the 1950s. The polyurethane Dark Night finish protects the wood while giving the guitar a striking, low-light stage presence. A 3-ply black pickguard frames the electronics and provides classic visual contrast against the Dark Night finish.

• Body Material: Alder — balanced, resonant tonewood with even frequency response
• Body Finish: Polyurethane — durable protective coating with a polished stage look
• Pickguard: 3-Ply Black — classic visual contrast against the Dark Night finish

Neck Profile and Fingerboard — Comfortable Feel

Heading up the neck, a maple profile features a sculpted heel joint that improves access to the upper frets, while the rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and a smooth playing surface. The 241 mm fingerboard radius and 22 narrow-tall frets give players a comfortable modern feel without sacrificing vintage character.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright, articulate backbone with stable feel
• Fingerboard Radius: 241 mm — comfortable middle-ground curve for chord work and lead playing
• Scale Length: 648 mm — standard Stratocaster string tension and snap

Pickups and Hardware — V-Mod III Tone

On the electronics side, the SSS pickup configuration pairs three V-Mod III single-coil pickups in the bridge, middle, and neck positions for articulate, chime-rich Stratocaster tone. A push-push tone control adds the neck pickup, letting players access combinations such as all three pickups at once. The 2-point synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles and a cold-rolled steel block delivers expressive pitch control with increased sustain and clarity.

• Pickup Configuration: SSS (V-Mod III single-coil) — vintage chime with modern articulation
• Bridge: 2-Point Synchronized Tremolo with Cold-Rolled Steel Block — expressive pitch control with added sustain
• Hardware Finish: Nickel/Chrome — classic Fender aesthetic with corrosion resistance
