Fender American Professional Stratocaster MN Black — The Modern USA-Made Workhorse

The Fender American Professional Stratocaster MN Black is a USA-built evolution of the legendary Stratocaster design, crafted in the USA for working musicians who need reliability and tonal range on every gig. An alder body paired with a maple neck and maple fretboard produces the bright, articulate attack that has defined the Strat sound for over seven decades. The black polyurethane finish keeps the instrument looking stage-ready through years of touring, while the updated appointments under the hood make this model a true player's guitar. The American Professional Stratocaster is the right choice for guitarists who want authentic American-made Fender tone with modern refinements.

What Sets This Strat Apart

Under the hood, this model features new V-Mod III single-coil pickups that are more articulate than ever while retaining bell-like chime and warmth. ClassicGear Precision potentiometers deliver smooth, consistent control with a musical taper, and a push-push tone control adds the neck pickup for combinations beyond standard Strat switching. The upgraded 2-point synchronized tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block and ClassicGear Radial bent-steel saddles increases sustain, clarity and high-end sparkle.

Alder Body and Polyurethane Finish — Built for the Road

Alder has been Fender's go-to body wood since the 1950s for its balanced tonal response — full and resonant without being boomy or thin. The polyurethane finish protects the wood from sweat, humidity, and the rigors of nightly gigging while preserving the deep black aesthetic. Combined with the classic double-cutaway Stratocaster body shape, this guitar offers upper-fret access that has made the Strat the choice of lead players across blues, rock, country, and pop.

• Body Material: Alder — balanced, resonant tone with full low-end response and clear highs
• Finish: Polyurethane — durable protective coat that resists wear through years of stage use
• Body Shape: Stratocaster double-cutaway — classic upper-fret access for lead playing and bending

Maple Neck with Deep C Profile — Modern Feel, Vintage Voice

The maple neck with maple fretboard delivers a snappy attack and bright top-end that cuts through a dense mix. Fender's Deep C neck profile fills the hand comfortably without feeling chunky, making it suitable for both rhythm chording and lead bending across styles. Twenty-two narrow-tall frets make bending easy across the fingerboard.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright, snappy attack with strong fundamental that suits clean and overdriven tones alike
• Fretboard Material: Maple — smooth, fast-playing surface with the classic Fender feel under the fingers
• Frets: 22 narrow-tall — modern fret wire for easy, accurate bending

V-Mod III Pickups and Modern Hardware — Pro-Grade Electronics

The SSS pickup configuration uses three V-Mod III single-coils that deliver bell-like clarity in every switch position. A 5-way pickup selector unlocks the classic Strat quack in positions 2 and 4 — the tonal signature heard on countless recordings since the 1960s. The bone nut improves sustain and tuning stability compared to synthetic alternatives, while the modern 2-point tremolo with pop-in arm allows expressive vibrato work without sacrificing tuning accuracy.

• Pickup Configuration: SSS — three V-Mod III single-coils — classic Strat tonal range from glassy neck position to biting bridge
• Nut: Bone — natural material for improved sustain and stable tuning under heavy tremolo use
• Tremolo: 2-point synchronized with bent steel saddles — smooth action and reliable return to pitch after dive bombs

Who Should Play This Guitar

The American Professional Stratocaster MN Black is built for working guitarists who need a USA-made instrument that can cover blues, rock, country, funk, and jazz without compromise. Session players will appreciate the consistent tonal range across all five pickup positions, while gigging musicians benefit from the included hard case and road-ready hardware. The Deep C neck profile suits players with medium to large hands who prefer a substantial grip without vintage bulk. Right-handed players looking for a full-size, professional-grade Stratocaster with modern playability will find this model delivers the classic Strat experience with contemporary reliability.
