Eva Bublová

Eva Cassidy was an American singer and musician celebrated for her soulful interpretations of jazz, folk, and blues. Renowned for her expressive soprano voice, she began gaining local acclaim with her 1992 debut album, The Other Side, a collaboration with Chuck Brown, and her 1996 live solo album, Live at Blues Alley. Although she was little known beyond Washington, D.C., during her lifetime, her music found international recognition after her death at age 33 from melanoma. In 1998, her moving covers of "Fields of Gold" and "Over the Rainbow" were championed by UK radio, leading her compilation album Songbird to top the UK charts and sparking global popularity. Cassidy’s posthumous releases have sold over ten million copies, reached the top 10 charts in multiple countries, and continue to resonate, with nine albums released after her passing. Her most recent album, I Can Only Be Me, created with the London Symphony Orchestra, was released in 2023.
