Black Country, New Road is an English rock band formed in Cambridge in 2018. The group originally included Tyler Hyde, Lewis Evans, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne, and Isaac Wood, with Luke Mark joining as guitarist in 2019. They quickly gained recognition with the singles "Athens, France" and "Sunglasses." Their debut album, For the First Time, released in 2021, was critically acclaimed, earning a Mercury Prize nomination and reaching number 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Their second album, Ants from Up There, came out in 2022 and achieved further success, making it to number 3 on the chart, despite Wood’s departure just before its release. After Wood left, Hyde, Evans, and Kershaw took over lead vocals as the band continued to evolve, premiering new music in the concert film Live at Bush Hall in 2023. Their third album, Forever Howlong, was released in April 2025. The band is known for their inventive and genre-blending approach to modern rock music.
