Ana Tijoux, born June 12, 1977, is a French-born Chilean musician known for her powerful blend of hip hop and Latin music with strong political themes. She first rose to fame as the lead MC of Makiza in the late 1990s and later reached mainstream success through her collaboration with Julieta Venegas on the hit song "Eres para mí." Tijoux's acclaimed solo albums, including 1977, La bala, and Vengo, have earned her international recognition and notable awards, such as Best Artist at the 2015 Pulsar Awards. She is the daughter of Chilean parents who lived in exile in France during Chile’s dictatorship.
