AKG WMS40 Mini Instrumental Trådlöst system ISM1: 863.1MHz

AKG WMS40 Mini Instrumental ISM1 — License-Free Wireless Freedom for Guitar and Bass

The AKG WMS40 Mini Instrumental ISM1 is a true plug-and-play UHF wireless system designed specifically for guitarists and bassists who want to roam the stage without dragging a cable. Operating on the license-free 863.100 MHz ISM1 band, the set pairs a PT40 Mini bodypack transmitter with an ultra-compact SR40 Mini receiver, delivering crystal-clear audio in seconds without frequency coordination or registration paperwork. Inside the receiver housing, AKG's HDAP (High Definition Audio Performance) technology preserves the natural character of the instrument signal from input to output.

What Makes This Wireless System Stand Out

Unlike many entry-level wireless sets that compromise on battery life or build quality, the WMS40 Mini runs up to 30 hours on a single AA cell — enough to cover a weekend of gigs without spares. The PT40 Mini transmitter features a professional 3-pin mini XLR input compatible with guitar and bass levels, plus an integrated On/Off/Mute switch that lets players silence the signal between songs without powering down. The receiver's three status LEDs and dedicated low-battery indicator on the transmitter keep the player informed at a glance.

Key Technical Parameters

Every spec on this system is tuned for hassle-free live performance, from the fixed-frequency simplicity to the universal switched-mode power supply that ships with US, UK, and EU adapters.

• Frequency Band: 863.100 MHz (ISM1) — license-free throughout Europe, no registration required.
• Frequency Response: 40 Hz - 20 kHz — full-range coverage that captures every nuance from low-B bass fundamentals to bright guitar harmonics.
• Transmitter: PT40 Mini pocket transmitter with 3-pin mini XLR input — accepts guitar, bass, headset, and instrument mic levels.
• Receiver Output: Balanced 6.3 mm jack — feeds any amp, mixer, or pedalboard input cleanly.
• Battery Life: Up to 30 hours on a single AA battery — outlasts most multi-band wireless sets in this tier.
• Transmission Power: 10 mW — sufficient range for club and small-stage use.
• Receiver Dimensions: 133 x 44 x 132 mm — slim enough to sit on a pedalboard or amp top without crowding the rig.

Who the AKG WMS40 Mini Instrumental ISM1 Is For

The AKG WMS40 Mini Instrumental ISM1 is the right choice for gigging guitarists, bassists, and keyboard players who perform at small venues — pubs, clubs, churches, rehearsal rooms, and theater stages — and need a reliable wireless link without the cost or complexity of pro touring systems. Bedroom players and home-studio users benefit equally from the cable-free convenience, while the universal power supply makes the set a practical option for touring acts crossing European borders. Anyone stepping up from a hardwired cable for the first time will appreciate the system's "up and running in a second" philosophy: no menus, no frequency scans, no software — just power on and play.

AKG and the WMS40 Mini Legacy

AKG has engineered professional audio equipment since 1947, and the WMS40 Mini family has been a fixture in the brand's wireless lineup since 2011. The Instrumental Set extends that heritage into the guitar and bass world, bringing the same HDAP audio philosophy used in AKG's studio microphones to instrument wireless transmission. The set ships with everything needed to go wireless on day one: PT40 Mini transmitter, SR40 Mini receiver, MKG L instrument cable, BC400 belt clip, AA battery, and a multi-region power supply.
