100% Birch Shell Construction

All shells are crafted from 100% birch in a six-ply build, producing the quick attack, short decay, and tight separation characteristic of professional birch drum kits. The same material has been central to Yamaha's professional drum lineup since the model's introduction in 1995.

Classic White Hand Lacquered Finish

The Classic White finish is hand applied using the same lacquering techniques found on higher-tier drum kits. Natural variations in the underlying wood grain ensure each shell retains a subtly individual character beneath the finish.

Y.E.S.S. Tom Mounting

The Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System mounts toms at the nodal point of the shell — the position of minimal vibration interference — while maintaining minimum contact between hardware and drum body. Nylon bushing rod clamps provide stability, and the system allows toms to be positioned close together without impeding quick head changes.

Absolute Lugs

The Absolute Lugs feature an internal lug nut hold plate that prevents tension bolts from working loose during play. Once tuned, the drums hold their pitch reliably even through demanding performances.

Ball Mount and Clamp

Yamaha's original ball mount and clamp uses an ultra-hard resin ball in a chromed housing, secured with a titanium ergonomic wing bolt. Toms can be set to any angle with non-slip precision, and the design also allows bottom head tuning by rotating the drum without loosening the mount.

Hardware Details

Die-cast claw hooks fitted with rubber insertion plates keep bass drum hoop noise to a minimum. Bass drum legs come with stoppers that simplify positioning and prevent slipping during performance.
