Moondrop Armature Art 24 — 24 Balanced Armature Drivers in a Single In-Ear Monitor

This flagship in-ear monitor packs 24 balanced armature drivers into each earpiece, organized into a 16-driver Superwoofer bass module, four mid-range balanced armatures, and four treble balanced armature drivers, all routed through 3D-printed acoustic channels. The AA24 is the right choice for audiophiles who want the speed and resolution of balanced armature technology with serious low-frequency weight. It addresses the traditional weakness of all-BA designs — thin or anemic bass — by dedicating 16 of the 24 drivers to low-frequency reproduction.

Standout Architecture and Materials

The Superwoofer module pairs the 16 bass drivers into eight groups along the acoustic path with controlled incremental delays, improving low-frequency timing and dispersion. Mid-range and treble drivers use lightweight aluminum-magnesium alloy diaphragms for faster transient response. The ferroalloy faceplate carries a crystal "ice flower" texture finish over a transparent resin shell.

Technical Specifications

The low 5.8Ω impedance and 119 dB/Vrms sensitivity make this IEM easy to drive from smartphones, dongles, and DAPs, while the swappable cable termination supports both balanced and single-ended sources.

• Driver Configuration: 24 balanced armature drivers per side — 16 bass (Superwoofer module) + 4 mid-range + 4 treble
• Frequency Response: 7 Hz – 35 kHz
• Impedance: 5.8 Ω ±15% @ 1 kHz
• Sensitivity: 119 dB/Vrms @ 1 kHz
• Cable: Detachable 0.78mm 2-pin, 1.2 m, hybrid single-crystal copper + pure silver
• Connectors: Swappable 4.4 mm balanced and 3.5 mm single-ended

Who Should Consider This IEM

The AA24 is the right choice for experienced IEM listeners who want a pure balanced armature sound with real low-frequency presence. It addresses one of the longest-standing criticisms of all-BA designs — thin or anemic bass — by dedicating 16 drivers to low-frequency reproduction. The 24-driver array delivers the layering, clarity, and high-frequency transparency characteristic of balanced armature technology. Those seeking the widest soundstage or the most expansive dynamic-driver-style bass rumble may prefer a hybrid IEM instead.

Moondrop's Flagship Statement

Moondrop has built its reputation on tuning consistency and value-oriented IEMs, often using single dynamic drivers or hybrid configurations. The AA24 marks a different direction — a flagship all-BA design with custom-developed drivers and the "ice flower" faceplate texture, positioning Moondrop alongside classic multi-BA flagships.
