M-Audio Oxygen 49 MKV — Compact USB MIDI Controller for Modern Producers

The M-Audio Oxygen 49 MKV is a 49-key USB MIDI controller built for software-based production. Full-size, velocity-sensitive synth-action keys give producers a tactile surface for playing virtual instruments and driving a DAW without reaching for the mouse, while Smart Chord, Smart Scale, and a full-featured Arpeggiator shorten the path from idea to recorded take. At 814 mm wide and 2.9 kg, the unit fits on a small desk or in a grab-and-go rig.

Smart Controls and Auto-Mapping That Skip the Setup

Smart Chord plays full voicings from a single key press, with a Custom Mode for user-defined chord structures. Smart Scale restricts the keybed to one of more than 15 scales so off-key notes never reach the recording. Auto-Mapping recognises the host DAW and assigns transport, faders, knobs, and pads to common parameters — no manual MIDI mapping required.

Keybed, Pads, and Wheels — Performance Hardware

The 49-key layout suits producers who want octave range without sacrificing desk space. Velocity sensitivity on keys and pads translates finger pressure into dynamic MIDI data, while the pitch and modulation wheels add expressive control for leads and synth parts.

• Number of Keys: 49 — full-size synth-action, velocity-sensitive
• Pads: 16 (2 banks of 8) — back-lit, velocity-sensitive, Note Repeat
• Pitch Bend: Yes — dedicated pitch and modulation wheels

Knobs, Faders, and Auto-Mapped DAW Control

Eight assignable knobs and nine assignable faders put effect parameters and mixer levels within immediate reach. The transport section sits under the encoder knobs, separated from the LCD selector buttons to keep the layout readable during a session.

• Assignable Knobs: 8 — effect plugins and virtual instrument parameters
• Assignable Faders: 9 — track volumes, pans, and mixer targets
• DAW Compatibility: Ableton, Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, MPC Beats, Studio One — auto-mapped transport and parameter control

USB Bus Power, iOS Support, and Included Production Software

A single USB cable carries both data and power, so no external adapter is needed. The 1/4-inch sustain pedal input accepts a standard footswitch for piano-style hold control, and iOS devices connect through Apple's Camera Connection Kit for mobile recording setups.

• Connection: USB-MIDI, USB bus-powered — single-cable setup, no power brick
• Inputs: Sustain pedal (1/4-inch) — standard footswitch input for hands-free note hold
• Package Content: USB Cable, Software Download Card, Quickstart Guide, Safety & Warranty Manual — plus MPC Beats, Ableton Live Lite, Hybrid 3, Mini Grand, and MPC expansion packs
