The Michael Schenker Group is an English hard rock band founded in London in 1979 by guitarist Michael Schenker, known for his work with Scorpions and UFO. The band became a staple of the hard rock scene, releasing several albums before taking a break in 1986, when Schenker formed the McAuley Schenker Group with vocalist Robin McAuley. After that project ended in 1993, Schenker brought back the Michael Schenker Group name in 1995 and has continued to release music and tour under various lineups ever since, including projects like Michael Schenker's Temple of Rock and Michael Schenker Fest. Throughout its history, Schenker has remained the driving force and consistent member of the group.
