Takamine GC5CE-NAT — Electro-Classical Guitar with Stage-Ready Electronics

The Takamine GC5CE-NAT brings nylon-string classical tone to amplified performance with a solid-top build and integrated preamp. Designed for working guitarists, this 4/4-size electro-classical pairs a fan-braced solid spruce top with black walnut back and sides for a warm, articulate voice. A Venetian-style cutaway and slim mahogany neck make upper-fret passages accessible, while TP-4T electronics handle any stage or studio situation. This electro-classical is a practical choice for classical players who need amplified reliability without sacrificing traditional tone.

Premium Appointments in the G Series

What sets this model apart is the combination of a dovetail neck joint and an inlaid mosaic rosette — details usually reserved for higher-tier instruments. The onboard TP-4T preamp includes a built-in tuner and three-band EQ with gain control for precise tone shaping. Gold die-cast tuners with white pearloid buttons and a laurel headcap complete the upscale presentation.

Tonewoods That Shape the Classical Voice

The body uses a semi-solid construction approach, pairing a solid spruce top with black walnut back and sides for a responsive soundboard and stable body.

• Top: Solid Spruce — fan-braced for articulate attack and dynamic range
• Back & Sides: Black Walnut — adds warmth and balanced resonance across registers
• Finish: Gloss Natural — polished surface highlights the wood grain

Neck Profile Designed for Classical Technique

Classical technique demands a wider neck and comfortable fingerboard surface, and this guitar delivers both with traditional measurements.

• Neck: Mahogany — slim profile for smooth transitions between positions
• Fingerboard: Laurel — smooth surface for intricate fingerstyle work
• Nut Width: 51 mm — adheres to classical standard for precise finger placement
• Scale Length: 650 mm — standard classical scale for proper string tension

Stage-Ready Electronics and Hardware

The integrated electronics and quality hardware make this guitar ready for live performance straight out of the case.

• Preamp: TP-4T with 3-band EQ and built-in tuner — shapes amplified tone and simplifies tuning between songs
• Tuners: Gold die-cast with white pearloid buttons — stable tuning and elegant visual contrast
• Bridge: Laurel classical tie-block — supports traditional nylon string anchoring
• Rosette: Inlaid mosaic — decorative detail around the soundhole

Ideal for the Advancing Classical Player

This model is the right choice for advancing classical students, gigging nylon-string players, and teachers who need a reliable amplified instrument. Its solid-top construction rewards players with developed classical right-hand technique and responds to dynamic nuance. The integrated preamp suits solo recital halls, small ensembles, and recording sessions. Players stepping up from a beginner laminate classical will notice the improved resonance and projection that solid spruce provides.
