Fender CD-60S WN LH Natural Dreadnought-gitarr

Fender CD-60S Dreadnought LH — A Left-Handed Workhorse With a Solid Top

The Fender CD-60S Dreadnought LH Natural WN is the southpaw-friendly version of one of Fender's most popular acoustic models. Built around a dreadnought body with a solid spruce top and laminated mahogany back and sides, this guitar targets left-handed players who want classic dreadnought tone without flagship pricing. It ships ready to play with a comfortable neck profile and projection suited to campfire strumming and coffeehouse sets.

What Sets the CD-60S LH Apart in the Entry Dreadnought Tier

Two upgrades separate this model from the older CD-60: a true solid spruce soundboard and quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing. The solid top ages like a fine instrument — opening up and gaining warmth with regular playing. Scalloped bracing trims mass where the top can flex, so the soundboard resonates more freely and the note-to-note response feels lively under the fingers.

Solid Spruce Top and Mahogany Body — The Classic Dreadnought Voice

Pairing a solid spruce top with laminated mahogany back and sides is the time-tested recipe for a balanced dreadnought sound: bright, articulate trebles from the spruce, warm and supportive mids from the mahogany. The body is finished in gloss with multi-ply binding and a CD Series pearloid rosette around the 100 mm soundhole.

• Top Material: Solid Spruce — the resonant heart of the guitar, responsible for clarity and dynamic range
• Back & Sides: Laminated Mahogany — adds warmth, mid-focus, and structural stability
• Body Finish: Gloss with multi-ply binding and CD Series pearloid rosette

Easy-to-Play Neck With Rolled Walnut Fingerboard

Mahogany is used for the neck, shaped to Fender's "Easy-to-Play" profile with rolled fingerboard edges that reduce hand fatigue during extended practice. The walnut fingerboard pairs a 305 mm (12") radius with vintage frets and 3 mm pearloid dot position markers, giving the left hand a smooth, predictable surface for chords, barre work, and lead lines.

• Neck Material: Mahogany with gloss urethane finish
• Fingerboard: Walnut, 305 mm radius, 20 vintage frets
• Nut Width: 43 mm — comfortable for beginners and experienced players alike
• Scale Length: 643 mm (25.3")

Reliable Hardware That Holds Tuning Session After Session

Chrome die-cast tuners, a walnut bridge with white-dot bridge pins, and a dual-action truss rod keep this model stable through humidity changes and string bends. The guitar ships with Fender Dura-Tone 880L coated 80/20 bronze strings in light .012–.052 gauges, a sensible factory setup for left-handed players who want to start playing immediately.

• Tuning Machines: Chrome Die-Cast — sealed gears for stable tuning
• Bridge: Walnut with white pins featuring black dots
• Factory Strings: Fender Dura-Tone 880L Coated 80/20 (.012–.052)

Left-Handed Beginners, Students, and Gigging Songwriters

The CD-60S Dreadnought LH is the right choice for left-handed players who need a dependable, great-sounding dreadnought at an entry-level price. Beginners benefit from the rolled fingerboard edges and 43 mm nut, which keep early chord shapes comfortable. Intermediate players get a solid top that will mature with regular playing, plus the projection to handle open-mic nights and small venue gigs. Songwriters will appreciate how the spruce-and-mahogany combination records cleanly with a single microphone.

The Classic Design Series — Fender's Accessible Acoustic Line

Inside Fender's Classic Design acoustic series, the CD-60S brings solid-top construction and refined neck profiles to players who previously had to choose between budget laminate guitars and expensive flagship models. The "S" in CD-60S marks the move to a solid spruce top — a generational upgrade reviewers have singled out as the moment this model became a serious instrument rather than a starter box.
