Fender California Standard Redondo Black Dreadnought-gitarr

Fender California Standard Redondo Black — Dreadnought Acoustic with California Character

This model brings Fender's storied acoustic legacy into a dreadnought body with a distinctly modern California attitude. The dreadnought shape is beloved for its deep tone and flexible personality, making it the go-to choice for any playing style from strumming to soloing. Resilient laminate construction with a spruce top and sapele back and sides delivers impressive tonal richness, while a 648 mm scale neck with a slim "C"-shaped profile provides an effortless playing feel.

Iconic 6-in-Line Headstock and Laminate Resilience

What sets this dreadnought apart is Fender's instantly recognizable 6-in-line headstock, which creates a straight string pull from the nut for optimal tuning machine performance and places all tuners in a linear location. The tilt-back design produces a consistent break angle on all strings for even response. All-laminate tonewood construction adds resilience and durability compared to solid woods, making the guitar a reliable daily driver for travel and stage use.

Spruce Top and Sapele Body — Player Benefit

A laminated spruce top provides clear, articulate note definition with strong projection, while laminated sapele back and sides add warmth and midrange depth. The gloss polyurethane finish protects the tonewoods and gives the black variant a sleek, long-lasting stage-ready appearance.

• The dreadnought body style offers a full, resonant low-end favored by strummers and singer-songwriters.
• Top Material: Laminated Spruce — articulate note attack with reliable projection across the fretboard
• Back & Sides: Laminated Sapele — warm midrange character and visual depth

Okoume Neck and Walnut Fingerboard — Player Benefit

A slim "C"-shaped okoume neck sits comfortably in the left hand, making long sessions and barre chords less fatiguing. The walnut fingerboard adds a smooth feel under the fingers, while the dual-action truss rod allows precise neck relief adjustment for any string gauge. Twenty vintage frets give players room for chord shapes and lead lines up the neck.

• Neck Material: Okoume — lightweight and stable with a slim "C" profile
• Fingerboard Material: Walnut — smooth playing surface with classic dark tone
• Scale Length: 648 mm — standard dreadnought tension for full-bodied tone

Modern Viking Bridge and Sealed-Gear Tuning Machines — Player Benefit

Die-cast sealed tuning machines deliver a smooth action for precise tuning, while the Modern Viking bridge anchors the strings with a clean break angle over a micarta nut. Phosphor bronze strings in .011-.052 gauges ship from the factory, giving players a balanced acoustic voice right out of the box.

• The Modern Viking bridge ensures solid string anchoring for consistent tone.
• Tuning Machines: Die-Cast Sealed — smooth, accurate tuning with reduced slippage
• Strings: Phosphor Bronze (.011-.052) — warm, balanced acoustic voice out of the box

Who Should Play This Dreadnought

This instrument is the right choice for intermediate players, singer-songwriters, and weekend strummers who want a bold visual identity and reliable build quality. Its slim "C"-shaped neck and 42.86 mm nut width make it approachable for players moving from a smaller body style, while the laminate tonewood construction handles changes in humidity and temperature better than many all-solid alternatives. The black finish with ivory binding suits players who prefer a stage-ready aesthetic that doesn't distract from the music.

The California Series Legacy

Fender's California Series draws from a storied legacy of reimagining the acoustic experience for daring players, harkening back to the cool, vibey acoustic guitars Fender became known for in the 1960s and 1970s. The Redondo body shape — a dreadnought-sized design with its own unique lines — anchors the lineup as a go-to choice for any musical playing style.
