Cort AC120CE OP — Electro-Classical Guitar With Authentic Nylon Tone

The Cort AC120CE OP is a 4/4-size electro-classical guitar built for beginners, students, and returning players who want the warm, mellow character of a traditional Spanish-style instrument with on-board amplification. Its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides deliver the deep, rounded response that defines nylon-string playing, while the Venetian cutaway opens up the upper register for lead lines and modern repertoire.

What Sets this model Apart

Two design choices lift the instrument above typical beginner nylon-string guitars. Combining a 3-band EQ with a built-in LED tuner in a compact side-mounted panel, the Cort CE304T preamp lets players dial in amplified tone and tune silently between songs. A sculpted thumb rest behind the nut, the classical head volute gives the left hand a comfortable anchor during long practice sessions.

Tonewoods and Body Construction

A solid spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides is the time-tested recipe for traditional classical tone: clear trebles, warm mids, and a focused bass response that suits both fingerstyle études and chordal accompaniment.

• Top Material: Solid Spruce — articulate note separation and dynamic headroom that improves as the wood ages
• Back & Sides: Mahogany — warm midrange that defines nylon-string voicing
• Traditional fan bracing supports the soundboard in a pattern optimized for standard nylon string tension.

Neck Profile and Fingerboard

A wider nut and classical U-shape neck give the left hand the room it needs for traditional fingerstyle technique, while the merbau fingerboard offers a smooth, durable surface under the fingertips.

• Scale Length: 650 mm — standard classical length for proper string tension and intonation
• Nut Width: 52 mm — wide enough for classical fingering without cramping the thumb
• Fingerboard: Merbau — dense tropical hardwood that holds frets securely
• Nineteen frets combined with the cutaway design offer full upper-register access for solo performance.

On-Board Electronics and Hardware

The CE304T system turns this nylon-string instrument into a stage-ready electro-classical, while the included high-tension strings and classical tuners keep the playing experience authentic from day one.

• Preamp: Cort CE304T with 3-band EQ and LED tuner — shapes amplified tone and tunes silently between songs
• Strings: Savarez Cristal Corum 500CJ high-tension nylon — bright trebles and responsive basses straight out of the box
• Urea resin nut and saddle significantly improve tuning stability and overall sustain.

Who Should Choose this instrument

It is the right choice for adult beginners, music students, and returning players who want a properly set-up classical guitar with amplification already built in. Learners working through graded method books, singer-songwriters who need a warm nylon-string voice for intimate gigs, and community players who plug into a small PA for services will find it ideal.
