Bose Sub1 Powered Subwoofer — Slim Bass for Portable PA

The Bose Sub1 powered bass module delivers low-end performance down to 32 Hz from a slim enclosure built around a 7 × 13-inch RaceTrack driver. Designed as the compact companion to the Bose L1 Pro32 line array, it pairs with virtually any portable PA via SubMatch single-cable connectivity or XLR/TRS combo input. This model is the right choice for mobile performers who need full-range bass without hauling a traditional 18-inch cabinet. A Class D amplifier delivers 480 W peak power and 124.6 dB maximum SPL from a 15.5 kg cabinet.

RaceTrack Driver and Cardioid Mode

The defining feature is the high-excursion RaceTrack driver — an elongated 7 × 13-inch cone that matches round-driver output in a slim 260 mm enclosure. Stacking two Sub1 units unlocks Cardioid Mode, which uses phase inversion to push bass forward and reject rear-firing energy by 10 dB. Integrated DSP provides input EQ, output EQ, and polarity inversion via the rear panel or the Bose Music app over USB-C.

Driver and Acoustic Performance

The RaceTrack geometry lets the Sub1 deliver deep bass from a cabinet roughly half the width of a typical 15-inch subwoofer, with a 200 Hz internal crossover handing off cleanly to paired top boxes.

• The high-excursion RaceTrack driver measures 7 × 13 inches (178 × 330 mm) and provides exceptional low-end clarity within a narrow profile.
• Frequency Range (-10 dB): 32 Hz – 250 Hz
• Calculated Maximum SPL @ 1 m: 124.6 dB

Amplification and DSP

A single-channel Class D amplifier drives the RaceTrack driver, while integrated DSP handles crossover, EQ, and phase/pattern control.

• Amplifier Type: Class D, 1 channel; 480 W peak
• DSP Functions: Input EQ, output EQ, phase/pattern polarity inversion

Connectivity and Physical Specs

The Sub1 accepts audio and power through Bose's proprietary SubMatch cable when paired with an L1 Pro32. For non-L1 systems, the XLR-1/4-inch TRS combo input handles balanced line-level signals.

• Inputs: (1) XLR-1/4 in TRS combo, (1) SubMatch
• Dimensions (H × W × D): 533 × 260 × 529 mm; 15.5 kg
