Yamaha SB7J SILENT Brass — Silent Practice for Trumpet and Cornet

This complete silent practice system for trumpet and cornet pairs the PM7X Pickup Mute with the STJ Personal Studio. Brass Resonance Modeling Ver.2.0 processes the signal from the mute's built-in condenser microphone to remove the closed character of a practice mute and reproduce the natural acoustic tone of an open instrument. Used together, the two units deliver the free-blowing feel and realistic response that make long sessions far less tiring.

What Sets the SB7J Apart

Weighing only 70 g, the PM7X mute sits fully inside the bell, so the instrument stores in its case with the mute in place. A specially designed mini condenser microphone, optimized in position and surrounding mute geometry, feeds the modeling engine with a clean signal. The STJ Personal Studio adds Player and Audience modes that rebalance the stereo image for either self-monitoring or remote listeners during online lessons and recordings.
