Eurythmics were a British new wave duo formed in 1980 by vocalist Annie Lennox and musician Dave Stewart after the breakup of their previous band, the Tourists. Their early work saw modest success until the release of their second album, Sweet Dreams Are Made of This, in 1983, which brought them international fame with its iconic title track. The group became known for a series of hit singles through the 1980s, including Love Is a Stranger, There Must Be an Angel Playing with My Heart, and Here Comes the Rain Again. Eurythmics initially split in 1990, with Stewart moving into record production and Lennox launching a successful solo career. The duo reunited for new music in 1999 and again in 2005, releasing the single Ive Got a Life. Eurythmics have sold around 75 million records worldwide and have received major music awards, including a Grammy and Brit Award, and have been inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
