Cold Wax for Batik. Cold wax is a traditional resist medium used to create negative designs in the batik technique. Its smooth, creamy consistency allows precise application and clean lines, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced textile artists. The wax is ready to use straight from the container and can be applied with a brush, applicator bottle with a nib, or a sponge.

How to Use:

• Draw your design on fabric using the cold wax.
• Allow the wax to dry and harden completely.
• Apply silk paint or immerse the fabric in a dye bath.
• After colouring and drying, remove the wax by ironing the fabric between sheets of absorbent paper (without steam) or by placing it in a steamer.

Cold liquid wax requires a slightly longer drying time compared to traditional hot‑melt wax. Clean all tools in hot water.
