Easier to dial than HX Stomp, IMHO I have the Line6 HX Stomp for more than 4 years now. I use it daily and I am very familiar with the sounds. It is a great pedal, but I wasn't able to dial in a completely satisfying drive and lead sounds. That is not the case with BOSS GT-1000 Core. At least a half of the first 20 factory presets are usabe, e.g. 'the power of the mdp', 'fat gainer', to name a few. I was able to get nice mid gain rhythm and lead sounds with minimal/no tweeking. The effects are pretty good as well. I like the terra echo verb, especially. Another highlight are the presets that transform your electric into an accoustic. The device is much more powerful than the Stomp: 24 blocks vs 8 blocks. Bottom line: I replaced the Stomp with the GT-1000 Core. Only time will tell whether the new device is reliable, but so far it's OK: no glitches on the firmware before or after the latest update. Recommended.
