• The upper has the Overlap construction, made with the most innovative materials, which uniformly wraps the foot without any pressure point, helping to transfer every watt of power and eliminating the dispersion of energy.
• The toe is reinforced in TPU; an easy and even closure system is guaranteed by the SLW2 dial, the only one with a step-by-step release, which allows a millimetric adjustment of the shoe in a quick and intuitive way.
• The Easyfit Climaflex collar combines the extreme elasticity of the Lycra with the high thermal insulation of the Neoprene, increasing mobility and protection.
• The wrapping and positioning of the heel are enabled by a solid thermoformed buttress, in addition to the Arctic 4Layer insole built in Eva + Aluminum + Eva + Pile, which ensures excellent thermal insulation. For added safety, the 360° Reflective inserts guarantee excellent visibility on the road.

Gore-Tex®

In its constant push for innovation, in 2004 Northwave was the first cycling brand to use Gore-Tex® in its cycling shoes. Since then, the cooperation has grown and consolidated, so much so that today we can boast no less than 8 different models equipped with Gore-Tex membrane. No other brand comes close.

First of all, what is Gore-Tex®?

• It is a synthetic fabric made of microporous Teflon and is designed to provide triple protection, being able to make the product in which it is applied waterproof, windproof and breathable. The Gore-Tex membrane is extremely thin and is made to prevent water from the outside and wind from penetrating, but at the same time allows sweat to escape. The collaboration of Gore-Tex® with Northwave therefore makes it possible to produce shoes of an extremely high quality level.

Why is a cycling shoe with a Gore-Tex membrane waterproof?

• The pores of the Gore-Tex membrane are extremely smaller than a drop of water, so it is impossible for rain to penetrate inside the shoe. At the same time, breathability is guaranteed by the fact that the pores of the Gore-Tex® fabric are larger than a molecule of water vapour, and consequently the sweat produced is able to escape from the shoe. Finally, the special structure of this material provides protection from the wind and prevents the foot from getting cold while cycling.
